The problem
Building chat that feels instant is easy in a demo and hard in practice — presence, delivery, auth, and UI polish all have to work together without fragile polling or insecure shortcuts.
How I solved it
Connexify is a MERN real-time chat app powered by Socket.IO for low-latency messaging. OAuth handles secure sign-in, while Tailwind and DaisyUI keep the interface fast to iterate and clear on mobile. The focus was a clean messaging experience with reliable transmission rather than a bloated social feature set.
