Low-Cost Connectivity Mesh · FYP
WisprNet
Solar-powered mesh networking for low-coverage regions. Distributed ESP32/LoRa nodes self-connect for rural communication, smart agriculture, and digital access — top 12 finalist at Invent for the Greater Good (IBA).

The problem
Large rural and underserved regions still lack reliable internet. Traditional telecom infrastructure is expensive to deploy, power-hungry, and slow to reach communities that need connectivity for education, agriculture, and emergency communication.
How I solved it
WisprNet builds a low-cost, solar-powered mesh of ESP32 and LoRa nodes that self-organize into a distributed network. Devices relay messages across hops without depending on a central ISP, while a React Native companion app lets users monitor nodes, send messages, and manage coverage. The system targets rural communication, smart agriculture telemetry, and digital access where fiber and towers are impractical.
